23:1 Now David was old and full of days; and he made his son Solomon king over Israel.
23:1 大卫年纪老迈，日子满足，就立他儿子所罗门作以色列的王。
23:2 And he got together all the chiefs of Israel, with the priests and the Levites.
23:2 大卫招聚以色列的众首领和祭司利未人。
23:3 And the Levites, all those of thirty years old and over, were numbered; and the number of them, by heads, man by man, was thirty-eight thousand.
23:3 利未人从三十岁以外的都被数点，他们男丁的数目共有三万八千。
23:4 Of these, twenty-four thousand were to be overseers of the work of the house of the Lord, and six thousand were judges and men of authority;
23:4 其中有二万四千人管理耶和华殿的事，有六千人作官长和士师，
23:5 Four thousand were door-keepers; and four thousand gave praise to the Lord with the instruments which I made, said David, for giving praise.
23:5 有四千人作守门的，又有四千人用大卫所作的乐器颂赞耶和华。
23:6 And David put them into divisions under the names of the sons of Levi: Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.
23:6 大卫将利未人革顺，哥辖，米拉利的子孙分了班次。
23:7 Of the Gershonites: Ladan and Shimei.
23:7 革顺的子孙有拉但和示每。
23:8 The sons of Ladan: Jehiel the chief, and Zetham and Joel, three.
23:8 拉但的长子是耶歇，还有细坦和约珥，共三人。
23:9 The sons of Shimei: Shelomoth and Haziel and Haran, three; these were the heads of the families of Ladan.
23:9 示每的儿子是示罗密，哈薛，哈兰三人。这是拉但族的族长。
23:10 And the sons of Shimei: Jahath, Zizah and Jeush and Beriah; these four were the sons of Shimei.
23:10 示每的儿子是雅哈，细拿，耶乌施，比利亚共四人。
23:11 Jahath was the chief and Zizah the second; but Jeush and Beriah had only a small number of sons, so they were grouped together as one family.
23:11 雅哈是长子，细撒是次子。但耶乌施和比利亚的子孙不多，所以算为一族。
23:12 The sons of Kohath: Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel, four.
23:12 哥辖的儿子是暗兰，以斯哈，希伯伦，乌薛共四人。
23:13 The sons of Amram: Aaron and Moses; and Aaron was made separate and holy, he and his sons for ever, for the care of the most holy things and the burning of offerings before the Lord, to do his work and give blessings in his name for ever.
23:13 暗兰的儿子是亚伦，摩西。亚伦和他的子孙分出来，好分别至圣的物，在耶和华面前烧香，事奉他，奉他的名祝福，直到永远。
23:14 And the sons of Moses, the man of God, were put into the list of the tribe of Levi.
23:14 至于神人摩西，他的子孙名字记在利未支派的册上。
23:15 The sons of Moses: Gershom and Eliezer.
23:15 摩西的儿子是革舜和以利以谢。
23:16 The sons of Gershom: Shebuel the first.
23:16 革舜的长子是细布业。
23:17 And the sons of Eliezer: Rehabiah the first; and Eliezer had no other sons, but Rehabiah had a great number.
23:17 以利以谢的儿子是利哈比雅。以利以谢没有别的儿子，但利哈比雅的子孙甚多。
23:18 The sons of Izhar: Shelomith the first.
23:18 以斯哈的长子是示罗密。
23:19 The sons of Hebron: Jeriah the first, Amariah the second, Jahaziel the third, and Jekameam the fourth.
23:19 希伯伦的长子是耶利雅，次子是亚玛利亚，三子是雅哈悉，四子是耶加面。
23:20 The sons of Uzziel: Micah the first, and Isshiah the second.
23:20 乌薛的长子是米迦，次子是耶西雅。
23:21 The sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi; the sons of Mahli: Eleazar and Kish.
23:21 米拉利的儿子是抹利，母示。抹利的儿子是以利亚撒，基士。
23:22 And at his death Eleazar had no sons, but only daughters, and their relations, the sons of Kish, took them as wives.
23:22 以利亚撒死了，没有儿子，只有女儿，他们本族基士的儿子娶了她们为妻。
23:23 The sons of Mushi: Mahli and Eder and Jeremoth, three.
23:23 母示的儿子是末力，以得，耶利摩共三人。
23:24 These were the sons of Levi, grouped by families, the heads of the families of those who were numbered by name, by heads, all those of twenty years old and over who did the work of the house of the Lord.
23:24 以上利未子孙作族长的，照着男丁的数目，从二十岁以外，都办耶和华殿的事务。
23:25 For David said, The Lord, the God of Israel, has given his people rest, and he has made his resting-place in Jerusalem for ever;
23:25 大卫说，耶和华以色列的神已经使他的百姓平安，他永远住在耶路撒冷。
23:26 And from now, there will be no need for the House of the Lord, and the vessels used in it, to be moved about by the Levites.
23:26 利未人不必再抬帐幕和其中所用的一切器皿了。
23:27 So among the last acts of David was the numbering of the sons of Levi, from twenty years old and over.
23:27 照着大卫临终所吩咐的，利未人从二十岁以外的都被数点。
23:28 Their place was by the side of the sons of Aaron in all the work of the house of the Lord, in the open spaces and in the rooms, in the making clean of all the holy things, in doing all the work of the house of the Lord,
23:28 他们的职任是服事亚伦的子孙，在耶和华的殿和院子，并屋中办事，洁净一切圣物，就是办神殿的事务，
23:29 The holy bread was in their care, and the crushed grain for the meal offering, of unleavened cakes or meal cooked over the fire or in water; they had control of all sorts of weights and measures;
23:29 并管理陈设饼，素祭的细面，或无酵薄饼，或用盘烤，或用油调和的物，又管理各样的升斗尺度。
23:30 They had to take their places every morning to give praise and make melody to the Lord, and in the same way at evening;
23:30 每日早晚，站立称谢赞美耶和华，
23:31 At every offering of burned offerings to the Lord, on Sabbaths, and at the new moons, and on the regular feasts, in the number ordered by the law, at all times before the Lord;
23:31 又在安息日，月朔，并节期，按数照例，将燔祭常常献给耶和华。
23:32 And they had the care of the Tent of meeting and the holy place, under the direction of the sons of Aaron their brothers, for the work of the house of the Lord.
23:32 又看守会幕和圣所，并守耶和华吩咐他们弟兄亚伦子孙的，办耶和华殿的事。
